“2020년 찰스대학교 한국학과 개설 70주년 기념”
지난 9월 30일 수요일, GKS 장학생 동문회 주도 한국학 세미나가 개최되었습니다.
세미나 오프닝에서는 김태진 대사가 체코 내 한국학 연구자들의 노고에 감사를 전하고, 2020년 한글발전유공 포상자로 선정된 찰스대학교 한국학과에 국무총리 표창장을 전수하였습니다. 행사에서는 찰스대학교 아시아학부장 Zemanek, 한국학과 교수 Horak, 번역가 Ben-Ari의 발표도 이뤄졌습니다. 이번 세미나는 올해 2020년 찰스대학교 한국학과 개설 70주년을 기념하여 한국학과 출신 GKS 장학생이 중심이 되어 온라인 및 오프라인 병행 방식으로 한국학 세미나를 진행하였습니다. 체코 출신의 GKS 장학생 다수가 찰스대학교 한국학과 출신으로, 이들은 현재 한국학과 교수, 번역가 그리고 통역가 등으로 활동하고 있습니다.
A Korean studies seminar titled the “Commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Department of Korean Studies at Charles University” was hosted on Wednesday, September 30, by the GKS Alumni Association Czech Republc.
The seminar began with remarks by Ambassador Kim Tae-jin thanking Korean studies scholars in the Czech Republic for their efforts. Following his opening remarks, Kim presented a prime minister's citation to Charles University’s Department of Korean Studies, which was selected as a 2020 Meritorious Institution for the Advancement of Hangeul. Subsequent presentations were given by Dr. Marek Zemanek (Director, Institute of East Asian Studies) and Tomáš Horák (Professor of Korean studies) from Charles University and translator Petra Ben-Ari. The seminar commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Department of Korean Studies and was operated by GKS alumni who had studied with the department both online and offline. Many Czech GKS alumni are graduates of CU’s Department of Korean Studies and are currently working as professors of Korean studies, translators and/or interpreters.
