Application Qualifications
- An undergraduate student from an overseas university that is a partner institution of the Korean Government Foreign Exchange Students Support Program and who is not currently enrolled in a domestic university may apply. (This applies specifically to undergraduate students; outstanding students from Strategic Cooperation Countries may apply even at the graduate level.)
  
  Students who are about to finish one semester (4 months) are not allowed to apply for an extension of their study periods.
- Applicants must have an overall GPA of at least 80 out of 100 percentile.
  
  Applicants must have completed at least 2 semesters at the overseas universities.
- Applicants must be a participant in the regular exchange student program (applicants who just enrolled in the Korean language training program are not considered for recommendation).
  
  - Applicants must not have a history of having received scholarship provided by the Korean government.
  - Dual citizenship holders cannot apply (Korean citizenship included).
- Applicants are not allowed to apply for admission to 2 domestic universities simultaneously.
- Applicants must be able to complete one or more courses (2 credits or more) on Korean culture or Korean language.
Selection Procedure
- NIIE selects the universities that shall operate the GKS Exchange Student Support Program.
- Candidates recommended by the participating universities will be assessed by NIIE for final selection.
