2023년 11월 3일, 나이지리아 아부자 콘티넨탈 호텔 콩그레스 홀에서 나이지리아 GKS 동문회 모임이 개최되었습니다. 본 행사는 동문 7인, 공관 직원 5인을 비롯한 총 162인의 인사가 참석한 가운데, GKS 동문회 커뮤니티 현황, 동문회 회장 선발, 2024년 GKS 장학 예정인 학생들과 질의응답 시간, 한국 문화 공연 및 K-POP 댄스 관람, 기념품 수령 및 만찬의 순서로 진행되었습니다. 본 행사에서는 GKS 졸업생을 대상으로 주재국 내 한국 기업들과의 취업 연계 형 프로그램, 동문회 운영 현황 및 향후 활동 계획 등을 논의 하고, 더 나아가 주재국 내 대한민국 국경일 행사 및 문화원 행사들과의 초청 협업 등을 논의 하며 주변 아프리카 국가들과 교류할 수 있는 동문회를 만들고자 노력하겠다는 다짐을 나누는 뜻 깊은 시간이었습니다.

The Nigeria GKS Alumni Association gathering was held at the Abuja Continental Hotel Congress Hall. The event was attended by a total of 162 individuals, including 7 alumni and 5 embassy officials. Activities included updates on the GKS alumni community, the selection of the Nigeria GKS alumni association president, Q&A session with 2024 GKS scholarship recipients, KPOP dance performance, Korean cultural performance and souvenir distribution followed by a banquet. The event also included discussions on the current operation of the alumni association and future activity plans. Through this event, initiatives such as employment linkage programs with Korean companies in Nigeria for GKS graduates were discussed. Additionally, invitations were sought for events celebrating South Korean national holidays and cultural events held in Nigeria. During the alumni meet, the establishment of an alumni association to facilitate exchanges with neighboring African countries was also discussed.
