Provision of Legal Services Through the Village Lawyer Program

All international students residing in Korea can access legal counseling services through the “Village Lawyer Program for Foreigners.”

    Usage Guide

    • Residents living in towns (eup), townships (myeon), or neighborhoods (dong) with assigned village lawyers can receive legal counseling from the designated lawyer.
    • Village lawyers typically provide remote counseling via phone, fax, or email. However, in some cases, they may visit the community for in-person consultations.

    Phone Counseling

    • Residents can check the contact information of village lawyers through township (eup), district (myeon), neighborhood (dong) offices, local bar associations, or the Ministry of Justice. After obtaining the contact information, residents can contact the village lawyer for counseling.

    Fax and Email Counseling

    • Residents fill out the village lawyer counseling card provided at the township (eup), district (myeon), or neighborhood (dong) offices.
    • The counseling card is sent to the village lawyer via fax or email.
    • The village lawyer reviews the counseling card and provides a response.

    In-Person Counseling

    • In-person counseling may be arranged depending on the number of applicants and the village lawyer’s schedule. Please inquire at your local township (eup), district (myeon), or neighborhood (dong) office about the availability of in-person counseling.
