GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) Program
This is a government-invited scholarship degree program aimed at fostering global talent and establishing international networks by inviting outstanding students from around the world.

Korea-Japan Joint Higher Education Student Exchange Program
Similar to the Korea-Japan Joint Higher Education Student Exchange Program (Japanese Scholarship Selection), this program consists of graduate courses, a one-year undergraduate course, and short-term undergraduate courses. GKS Exchange Students Program
Supports the expansion of international student exchange to enhance the international competitiveness of domestic universities, while providing exchange students with opportunities to understand Korean education and culture.

Eligibility Requirements
- Undergraduate and graduate (Master's and Doctoral degree) students of foreign nationality who are enrolled in an overseas university that have agreements with a Korean university affiliated with NIIED.
- Students must be enrolled in a degree exchagne program (those enrolled solely in Korean language courses are excluded).
- Students whose overall academic performance at their home university is 80% or above.
- Students who have previously received scholarship from the korean government are not eligible.
- Dual nationals who hold Korean citizenship are not eligible.
- Students currently stuying in Korea are not eligible.
- Studnets cannot apply to more than Korean university at the same time.
- ※ Scholarship recipients who have completed one semester (4 months) are not eligible to apply for a scholarship extension.

Other Scholarships – A scholarship program that supports government-funded students aiming to foster global talent and promote balanced academic development.
In addition, many universities, foundations, and corporations in Korea operate various scholarship programs for international students.
Government-Funded Scholarships for Domestic Students (For Koreans)

Government-Funded Study Abroad Program
[General Requirements]
- Graduates from domestic universities (including industrial, educational, remote, and technical universities) or those who expect to graduate by August 2024, or individuals with equivalent or higher qualifications. However, individuals with or expecting an associate degree from remote or technical universities are excluded.
- No age restrictions.
- Male applicants must have completed military service or be exempt (those expected to be discharged within 6 months of the application deadline may also apply).
- Applicants who have obtained a degree through the Self-Study Degree System under the "Self-Study Degree Acquisition Act" may apply./li>
- Applicants with degrees obtained through the Self-Study Degree System or Credit Recognition System under relevant laws may apply (associate degrees are excluded).
- Dual citizens must renounce their foreign citizenship before commencing the program.
- Applicants recommended by the head of the relevant school (substituted by a seal on the application form).
※ Self-study or Credit Recognition System applicants are exempt from recommendation requirements.
Government-Funded Training for Skilled Workers
- 1. Graduates from specialized high schools, Meister high schools, or equivalent institutions as specified in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act:
- General high schools operating similar curricula to specialized high schools.
- Industry-customized high schools or specialized high schools.
- Specialized high schools (excluding schools that specialize in experience-based education such as natural field practice).
- 2. Employees with at least one year of work experience in small or medium-sized enterprises (as defined in the Small and Medium Enterprises Basic Act) or
equivalent achievements:
※ Formal employment status is not required (must provide an employment or experience certificate).
※ Recognition of achievements includes winning medals at the International Skills Olympics:
※ Gold Medal: 4 years of recognition/ Silver Medal: 3 years of recognition/ Bronze Medal: 2 years of recognition Excellence Award: 1 year of recognition - 3. No age restrictions.
- 4. Male applicants are prioritized if they have completed or are exempt from military service. Applicants with no military service must ensure their participation does not violate military service laws.
- 5. Dual citizens must renounce their foreign citizenship before commencing the program.
- 6. Preferential Selection Criteria
A. Long-term employment in small or medium-sized enterprises.
B. Possession of a Master Craftsman qualification or higher.
